refrain from pursuing new environmental taxes, fees and mandates until we have sustained economic recovery.

Created by G.C. on November 14, 2012

Our economy remains unstable and recovery is far from complete. There are Democratic Party agenda items that can and should be deferred, particularly when implementation will place a financial burden on businesses, and create a competitive disadvantage for businesses selling internationally. Pursuing a carbon tax or cap-and-trade system or any other pro-environment tax, fee or mandate, now (or at any time prior to economic recovery) is fiscally reckless. The risks (or the near certainty of economic stress) massively outweighs the benefits.
