To refrain from sending arms to Syrian rebels, and thus creating another quagmire for the US akin to Iraq, all based on unproven allegations of chemical weaponry use. These weapons may have well been equally used or were first used by the rebels. There have been horror stories of human abuse and atrocities committed by the rebels who have been desperately trying to drag the West into this civil war. These rebels are nothing but members of Islamic extremists that seek to use us for achieving their evil goals.
