Refrain from Traveling Via Motorcade During Rush Hour

Created by A.C. on October 25, 2013

In a city where one stalled car can add 20 minutes to a commute that is already in excess of 60 minutes, it is unconscionable for an individual with multiple transportation options - one of which is a helicopter - and the ability to force others to acquiesce to his scheduling demands (Leader of the Free World, anyone?) to choose a method of transport that requires no less than 6 city blocks to be closed for an indeterminate amount of time when hundreds of thousands of people with far fewer options and scheduling flexibilities are trying to make their way home to be with their families. I urge the President and his staff to do their utmost to arrange the President’s schedule and mode of transport to ensure that motorcades occur during off-peak hours only.
