Wikipedia describes a homeland as "A homeland (rel. country of origin and native land) is the concept of the place (cultural geography) with which an ethnic group holds a long history and a deep cultural association —the country in which a particular national identity began."
Mr. President, as you are no doubt aware, America is a country of many different ethnic groups, most of whom did not originate on the North American Continent. This is one of the sources of our strength, and sets America apart from almost every other nation on the planet. For these reasons, we believe the term 'homeland' is not a correct way to refer to America. Its use disregards our nation's very beginnings as well as its growth into a world leader. Further, its use conjures images of home front war propaganda.
