On Thursday 20 November 2014, President Barack Obama announced the extension of protections against deportation for approximately 5 million illegal immigrants residing in the United States.
Whilst the legality of the executive action is in question, it is undoubtedly a metaphoric "slap in the face" to those who endured the unpleasant process and high costs (both through immigration and legally) to enter the US in accordance with US law.
Legal immigration to the US is no easy feat, amnesty to those who choose to ignore the law is an insult to those who didn't. Therefore, this petition requests that the Obama administration refund the immigration and legal fees of those legal immigrants who have entered the US legally, since Obama took office in 2008.
