In the coming days you, Mr. President, may be tempted to appease the Republicans and to make a bunch of statements about working with them. Don't. These are people who desire to undo every bit of progress we have made over the past 150 years. These are people who would love nothing more than to destroy you and your family. These are people who would rather see many of us dead. It is not time for appeasement. It is not time for deals and grand bargains. It is time to fight these people in every way possible and to take it to them. It is time to stop being so nice and calm and rational and to stand up for the American people.
