During Ilham Aliyev's rule more than 100 opposition activists have been arrested on trumped up charges in Azerbaijan. Ilham Aliyev is an "author" of an endless list of political prisoners and refuses to release them from prison.
Prominent investigative journalist Khadija Ismayilova managed to get a letter out of jail to The New York Times.
"The truth is that Azerbaijan is in the midst of a human rights crisis. Things have never been worse. Do not let the government of Azerbaijan distract your attention from its record of corruption and abuse." Ismayilova wrote.
Considering recent arrests and continued human rights violations, the US President Barack Obama must refuse meeting with Ilham Aliyev during Nuclear Security Summit.
