Senator Jim Inhofe (R-OK) is an avowed climate-change denier who has publicly stated that global warming is a hoax perpetuated by Hollywood elites. He is entirely unfit to have any input on matters of climate change--and yet he is inexplicably the Chairman of the U.S. Senate Environment & Public Works Committee.
President Obama has taken impressive action on climate change recently, but this urgent threat requires legislative action as well. President Obama should exercise his veto power by refusing to sign any Republican-sponsored legislation until Senator Inhofe is removed from the chairmanship and the committee entirely. Congress must vote to remove him so they can move forward with legislation to end fossil fuel subsidies and promote green energy. Our planet deserves as much.
