refuse a visa to the new Iranian UN ambassador, Hamid Aboutalebi, who took part in the 1979 Iranian hostage crisis.

Created by E.M. on April 02, 2014

Iran recently appointed Hamid Aboutalebi as their new ambassador to the UN. Aboutalebi was a militant who participated in the Iranian hostage crisis on 1979, when 52 Americans were held hostage for 444 days. Many were tortured, including Barry Rosen, who said it would be an "outrage" and "disgrace" to allow this man to walk on American soil. The Obama Administration has thus far refused to bar the visa. While they may be unable to prevent his appointment to the UN, they can refuse him the visa to enter the United States of America.
