NBC reported about the dangers of 3D printers in the wrong hands and their ability to make weapons. We propose that the White House work with congress to restrict the general public’s ability to access and obtain them. We further propose that the Department of Homeland Security maintain a database of their manufacture and those owning them. The Department of Homeland Security should also be empowered to set standards for licensing the printer’s owners and prohibit access to unlicensed individuals.
