We petition the administration to use its online tools and database to register 1 million new voters each month who support comprehensive measures to effect gun safety. This will embolden Congress to act and encourage like-minded candidates to run in 2014.
Additionally, we urge that a voter registration website be developed as a repository of fact- checked information and research on gun safety and related issues such that only items judged "truthful", per a system such as PolitiFact, can be posted. Similarly, representatives, candidates and advocacy groups can post on the site (and generate revenue for its development) if their materials pass a "truthful" threshold. The repository will combat the misinformation that surrounds this issue and create a model for trustworthy information.
