By slowing decreasing the amount of sugar in the foods we eat, we will become a healthier country and have lower health care costs. The FDA should be able to regulate the amount of sugar that goes into products like soda, ketchup, candy and all the 1000s of other products that use sugar.
By having a target to reduce the amount of sugar in foods by 20% in 25 years, we can reduce sugar in products by 2-5% every 5 years, and we will gradually reduce our need to excessively eat sugar.
Not only will we see health benefits, health care costs will lower as we see lower rates of diabetes, liver disease and obesity.
