There are presently more firearms than citizens in this country. Because of this, there is no way to stop a criminal or deranged individual from obtaining gun/guns and carrying out another devastating tragedy.
Citizens have the right to keep and bear arms; however, we also have a right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Whose rights trump whose?
What if bullets were taxed, regulated, and accounted for, just like tobacco or alcohol? What if bullets were taxed an exceedingly high amount, that if a deranged individual aimed to massacre numerous others, that individual would have to withdraw his entire life savings to do so? Then, if an individual purchasing bullets, goes through the year without using the bullets to commit a crime, they could claim that money back on taxes?
