Spam - A word that makes us all think of unwanted marketing sent to our email boxes. But what about all the junk mail we receive at our houses?
Physical mail has gone largely unregulated, or regulated in favor of companies and organizations that profit from "spamming" our home mail boxes. The default for spam at home is to opt-in every address, and make the opt out process not only difficult, but temporary. Opting out of the yellow pages takes up to 3 months, and only lasts 12 months, at which point you have to opt-out again.
Not only is this annoying, its wasteful as this mail is thrown right back into the trash.
New laws must be made to change this. A resident should receive NO mail, unless they specifically sign up for it, and the process should be centralized and simple.
