Regulate auto/home insurance companies to ensure fair claim practices.

Created by O.H. on February 21, 2014

Auto/home insurance companies are making big profits by following a model based on the three “D”s: Delay, Deny and Don’t Pay. States make it mandatory for citizens to pay for insurance, but why doesn't the government make it mandatory for insurance companies to follow fair practices?

Protect consumers by enforcing the following:

A car rental comparable to what the claimant had.

If the car is repaired then the insurance company should initiate a diminished value claim within one week of the repair and the claimant should receive a payment no later than 2 weeks after the vehicle was repaired.

Medical bills should be paid by the insurance company and should never be billed to the claimant.

Insurance companies should pay a big fine if they don’t pay claimants within the given timeframe.
