When a consumer considers a smartphone, tablet, or other mobile device, they take time to understand the specs, size, use, and the carrier. Mobile devices are advertised with a certain amount of storage and capabilities with the understanding that the ROM (operating system) will take some of that storage. However, after you make the purchase, without prior notification, you are forced to download and install what is known as bloatware. These are usually unwanted apps that the user is forced to install and will never use. Bloatware is a form of adware/malware that uses system resources without the user's consent. This type of malware need either be outlawed or at the very least, minimized to one to two small apps per carrier (perhaps give the consumer choice of which two to install).
