Regulate College Parking Fees

Parking fees are an issue on many college campuses. Students pay thousands of dollars each year to attend a college and on top of that a parking pass that could cost as much as $1,000 dollars. Faculty is required to pay parking fees as well. However, paying the parking fees never actually guarantees a parking spot. During certain times of the day it could take a person up to an hour to find a parking spot, causing both professors and students late for class. Another issue is most colleges charge commuters more than those who live on campus. Commuters spend more money for additional gas to get to school; it does not make sense that they should be charged higher parking fees. The U.S. Government should make all college parking free or at least regulate, and reduce it to very low costs.
