My story is this: My license was suspended for not having insurance, despite providing proof. It shouldn't have even been an issue. I had to pay $145 to unsuspend it. There is no recourse. This is not a new or unique occurrence. Google "sue DMV" for 1.2 million results. 1000's of such stories exist.
DMV is meanwhile not punished for criminal activity; we're told "it's how it works". As Americans we depend on personal transportation, yet DMV's systems are ineffective, inefficient, and even harmful.
What we need is a federal DMV that oversees the state DMVs according to nationwide rules. Or make it possible for us to prove wrongful suspension, etc., in all states. Please stop DMV from defrauding US citizens.
