Regulate Guns and Ammunition using our current Car Regulation model as a framework. (License, Insurance, taxes.)

Created by J.Z. on December 18, 2012

Using our current car regulation process as a model:

1. Require gun owners to attend gun training then pass a written and practical proficiency exam, renewable every 4-6 years.

2. Require gun owners to carry liability insurance on each gun they own, and the insurance to cover damages caused when the gun fires.

3. Require taxes for each bullet/round ammunition, with the tax used to cover uninsured gun damage and gun safety campaigns.

4. Have a minimum age requirement to fire a weapon, or to begin gun training similar to that of motor vehicles.

5. Require guns to be registered at the POS, and inherited or second market guns to pass the same requirements of new purchases.

6. Require gun owners, and all people residing in the homes the gun will be kept, to pass mental health exams.
