Regulate Health Insurance Companies. Stop the Ever Increasing Premium Rates and the Loss of Benefit Coverage!

Created by R.M. on September 28, 2015

For thousands of Americans who do not qualify for health insurance subsidies and do not have employer based health insurance, we are forced by law to buy expensive individual health insurance. Even for the most basic coverage, there are high premiums, co-pays and deductibles. In addition, the benefit coverage keeps shrinking while the premiums continue to increase.
In response to the Affordable Care Act, Health insurance companies have increased premiums (mine doubled in 2015 and will increase again another 8% in 2016) and decreased benefits. Since we do not have single payer health insurance like Canada, we need to regulate Health Insurance companies and protect consumers. What is the point of mandating Americans to have insurance if no one can afford to pay for it and actually use it?
