Regulate Hydraulic Fracturing (fracking)

Created by L.H. on August 10, 2015

Hydraulic Fracturing, also known as fracking, is on the verge on becoming a disaster in America. Many citizens do not understand what fracking is and the difference between fracking and a oil rig.
What is fracking? Hydraulic fracturingis the process of drilling and injecting fluid into the ground at a high pressure in order to fracture shale rocks to release natural gas inside.
I propose that we get more regulations on hydraulic fracturing and allow the states to regulate. We are fracking in highly populated areas, which is extremely dangerous. For example, southern California has been in a scary water drought over the last three years, yet there is a lot of fracking activity going on in that region. Fracking is sucking and wasting the last tiny bit of water remaining.
