Regulate insurance coverage of fertility treatments because everyone deserves the chance to have a family.

Created by M.S. on January 31, 2016

One in every 10 women in America struggles with infertility. With stingy or fickle policies, health insurance companies limit women’s treatment options.

There are currently only 15 states in the U.S. that mandate insurance companies to cover the cost of fertility treatments and procedures. On average, one cycle of in vitro fertilization costs $12,000 for both treatment and medications. Infertile women in the remaining 35 states must often pay for this costly procedure out of pocket.
Without insurance coverage for treatment, many women are left with a difficult choice: pay for IVF themselves - or don’t have children of their own.

This petition, by PCOS Awareness Association, demands all states to require insurance companies to cover the cost of fertility treatments and procedures.
