The tragedy in Texas has made perfectly obvious the dangers of knives, edged items, & blades in this country. These deadly items are completely unregulated. Not only can they be purchased almost anywhere (with almost no accountability for the sellers), most people actually own multiple blades and use them daily with no regard for their deadly nature or any regard for the public welfare! Anyone can purchase, own & utilize these weapons with no background checks, no checks for mental health issues, & no safety training! Felons & children are even allowed unfettered access! This is unacceptable. The government regulates & protects the public from the dangers of unregulated firearms, drugs, sugar, & independent thought. It is well past time they started addressing this deadly menace!
