Why do we allow the news media to publicize and glorify killers across the country for their heinous crimes by sharing names and photographs? I urge the White House to regulate the media's ability to publish killer names and photos. The media can use a generic name like John Doe if needed, but these criminals have no right to become famous for the atrocities they commit. Their families are also affected and have to live with being connected with the criminal. Most of the country can probably name Charles Manson, Timothy McVeigh, Adam Lanza, etc. but not 5 politicians.
