Regulate the number of calories allowed in a school lunch to a level sufficient for students.

Created by J.W. on September 11, 2013

Our Discovery Middle School petition revolves around the fact that our students feel they do not receive the proper level of nutrition throughout the school day. The current limit for middle school students is around 600 to 700 calories per day; we feel that most students burn that amount in a very short amount of time and spend most of the day energy depleted and hungry. With sports, physical education, and simply busy and strained throughout the day, we feel a limit of 900 to 1,000 would be more sufficient. This is understandably an issue close to President Obama and his family's heart, so it is our hope that this petition will garner the attention of others out there who support our 7th grader's views!
