Regulate photoshopped images in the media by having a mandatory label be placed on all images that have been retouched.

Created by J.R. on December 08, 2015

The media is known for using Photoshop to distort images of people. Numerous studies have shown that the false images of people that are portrayed in the media, such as magazines and T.V. ads, have a negative effect on not only adults but also younger children. These photoshopped images need to have a regulation on them. Every photo of a person that has been digitally altered should have a warning sign on the photo. This sign should include warning, photoshopped, and the level to which it is retouched. The levels could be placed between 1-5, 1 being barely retouched, such as a skin tone evening, and 5 being significantly distorted, such as a body part being extremely narrowed. These labels could enhance the understanding that these images are false and they should not set the beauty ideal.
