regulate pit bulls and all derivations thereof as wild animals and ban the ownership as a domesticated pet.

Clearly, legislation proposed and enacted at the state level is either non-existent or ineffectual in reference to some "domesticated" animals. The number of attacks on humans, both fatal and non-fatal, by specific household breeds are rising and will continue to do so. One breeds in particular, the Pit-bull (including cross breeds), are the leading cause on serious and lethal attacks due to their nature. Due to the propensity of the Pit-bull to cause severe, lethal trauma on the first attack, we therefore petition this breed of animal to be classified and a wild, dangerous animal and a threat to the safety or the public at large.
