Regulate the plastic industry with FDA and EPA labeling, to ensure consumers are protected from harmful chemicals!

Created by M.B. on January 17, 2012

Plastic bottles and containers leach harmful chemicals into our food, our water, and our environment.

Chemical and synthetic products generally require warning labels to those who will use them warning them of potential hazards and methods to use that product safely. Why is plastic, that stores nearly all our food be any different?

Plastic not only pollutes with the actual container that is thrown in the landfill and takes hundreds of years to fully break down. Plastic also leaches chemicals from the material as it is broken down my weather, sunlight, or normal use.

The FDA and EPA need to require hazard and safety information to be printed on all plastic products, warning that it may be unsafe to consume from them, or at least how to use them safely to minimize health hazards.
