Regulate the Prescription Drug Market

Over the past decade, the prescription drug market has been price gauging its customers. They have been posting historically high profits and margins to their shareholders. I am urging everyone to sign this petition in support of urging Congress and The White House to regulate the prescription drug market. To do this, Congress would need to implement a board of regulators to govern above the pharmaceutical industry. These regulators would consist of representatives from existing public health and consumer protection agencies who would focus on transparency about costs that the pharmaceutical industry is spending, would work to lift the ban on Medicare’s abilities to negotiate with drug makers, and would work to purchase alternative drugs from overseas to create diversity in the market.
