Young people across the nation are just beginning or continuing their journey into higher education, and becoming the backbone of our society, that is to say the future leaders of our country. As part of their education they are required to purchase the texts that are necessary for the classes that they are taking. The place that most students go to get their books are the college bookstore because this is the only place that they can use Federally provided student loans and grants. Because the College/University Bookstores have created an artificial monopoly on receiving access to these funds they inflate the prices on these texts, often tenfold or more. As citizens it is our duty to regulate these practices, especially considering that these funds are provided at a Federal level.
