Hammers accounted for 496 deaths nation wide in 2011. That is 173 more deaths than "assault weapons" during the same period. The Obama Administration must apply the same common sense approach to all weapons capable of mass murder and not just firearms.
This country has a strong tradition of hammer ownership that's been handed down from generation to generation. Obviously across the country there are regional differences. There are differences between how people feel in urban areas and rural areas. And the fact is the vast majority of hammer owners in America are responsible. They buy their hammers legally and they use them safely.
Please, in the memory of those already lost, require common sense background and mental evaluations for hammer purchases and sales. Lets save our children.
