regulate sugar, salt & fat in school lunches (etc) to promote better health in the students, teachers, and staff.

Created by K.N. on November 13, 2012

Children must be taught to make good choices about food, and also fed meals that are healthful and reasonable. Based on many excellent nutritional studies, it is clear that a low-salt, low-sugar, low-calorie diet without sat. fats, and with whole grains, vegetables, and fruits, is the right diet for almost everyone. It is a diet that is necessary for anyone who is at risk of disease, especially Federally-funded school diets - and state and local funded diets - must be set up and monitored frequently by nutritionists. Parent/guardians must be given thorough talks about this issue, in additional to guidelines for themselves, so they can be good models for children and each other. Children and the elderly deserve to be fed meals that they enjoy and that promotes their best health.
