Regulate tobacco and nicotine as Schedule I controlled substances.

Created by A.W. on October 29, 2011

Science and research have unequivocally shown that tobacco abuse is correlated with cancer and early fatality. According to the NIH/CDC, tobacco smokers lose an average of over 13 years of life and cause one in five (or at least 440,000) premature deaths in the U.S. annually. Multiple NIH studies have confirmed tobacco smoke cause multiple cancers including those of the oral cavity, esophagus, larynx, and lung. Simply put, it is a malignant drug.

According to the NIH, “nearly 90 percent of smokers start smoking by age 18,” so increased regulation will answer multiple health, social, youth education, and community quality of life challenges.

Show us that your administration is not bought out by the tobacco industry. Regulate tobacco and nicotine as Schedule I controlled substances.
