With the flood of electrical products in the US, some of the products out in the world don't last longer than a few months. Not because they become unusable, but because they are not demanded as high in the public. When this happens, companies tend to shut out those products and refuse to keep them up in security updates and in software, causing the consumer to feel forgotten and lied to. The average american uses products like phones for 2 year cycles, so it should be in the best interest of keeping those products up to date for those two years. Tablets tend to stay in the hands of people for longer and should reflect that respectively. For other products that fail well before they thought, like game consoles, the owners of the product should at least feel like they weren't left alone.
