Regulate U.S farms in order to stop the use of antibiotics in animal feed.

Created by B.T. on October 01, 2015

Petition of beliefs:

1. It is a threat to public health because the overuse of antibiotics allows for the evolution of antibiotic-resistant bacteria strains

2. It is harmful to the environment because animal waste containing these antibiotics contaminates the water and soil, effecting animal/plant life

3. It is harmful to the farm animals because it causes them to unnaturally gain weight

Proposed solutions:

1. Join the European Union and Canada in banning the use of sub-therapeutic antibiotics in meat animals

2. Require the FDA to collect and publicly report all information on the amount of antibiotics sold, in order to track antibiotic resistance and guarantee that farmers in the meat industry are following the rules
