While domestic drones can (and are) used for good purposes such as monitoring crops; they can and will be abused by government officials unless regulations are put in place and enforced. We would like for laws to be implemented similar to what the ACLU has outlined and to what was proposed in The Preserving Freedom from Unwarranted Surveillance Act of 2013. Drones have massive potential to infringe upon citizens’ 1st amendment rights including the right to privacy. Requiring warrants for drone usage would be a good first step towards preserving our rights.
