regulate the use & abuse of EBT cards. No snack cakes, junk food, etc. / Allow only breads, sandwich meat, milk, etc.

Created by J.J. on November 14, 2012

Often I see people in the grocery store purchasing items with their EBT cards. I have no problem with helping those who really need the help, but too often do I see those who claim they need help buying nothing but junk food. A cart full of chips, cup cakes, soda, candy, etc. is not a proper use, nor healthy use, of the help they have been granted. Milk, eggs, bread, sandwich meat, whole grain cereal, etc. is what I would rather see the use of EBT cards buying. I am not saying all that recieve EBT funds are abusing their funds.
I would like to see some sort of guidelines established for the use of EBT cards that would not only improve the health of those abusing it, but also create a desire, in the ones that do abuse it, to find work so they can buy extra things they want themselves.
