Reign in the Consumer Product Safety Commission

Created by D.B. on July 25, 2012

We ask the Obama administration to reign in the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and reverse their decision to halt to sales of Buckyballs magnetic toys. These toys are marketed towards adults and teenagers who are quite capable of reading the warnings and who also don't eat anything that fits in their mouths. Young children (whom this measure is aimed at), can't read the warnings and need proper adult supervision. This clearly takes consumer and government protection too far. The parents are to blame for any injury to their children. There are numerous products and items that can potentially harm children such as knives, rocks, paint, household chemicals, hammers, etc. President Obama needs to step up here and stop government over-regulation.
