In an effort to partially right the wrong that has been committed against LEGAL immigrants to this country, this petition calls on the federal government to reimburse immigration costs of those LEGAL immigrants who, from day 1, followed our immigration laws related to seeking citizenship.
This reimbursement request is retroactive to 1986 because, when the federal government granted amnesty to 3 million illegals in exchange for a guarantee to its citizens that the federal government would defend our borders from future intrusion, the federal government FAILED to meet its own mandate and continues to penalize those attempting to gain citizenship legally.
