On Wednesday evening November 4, 2015, the Capital Beltway was shut down for the terribly important reason of getting the President to a fundraiser in the suburbs.
Why the busiest road in the nation's worst rush hour had to be closed at all, and why it had to be closed for over 30 minutes and why it had to be closed at 5 pm is beyond me.
Please reimburse all affected at a reasonable hourly rate. This won't help anybody stuck in the hours-long backup who missed an important function.
Perhaps the fundraiser should foot the bill for the reimbursement? At $20 grand per couple there should be plenty in the coffers.
