Reimburse taxpayers for Secret Service protection of candidates

Created by J.L. on March 19, 2016

Under current law only some candidates are entitled to Secret Service protection. Since candidates are not required to run for office and freely choose to run, the taxpayers should not be required to pay for their protection. Their campaigns should be responsible for the expense incurred by the Secret Service and should be required to reimburse the taxpayers for any Secret Service protection they choose to accept.
