We the people ask the federal government to Propose a new Administration policy:

Reimburse for Traffic Jams caused by Fundraising and Campaign Events

Created by R.H. on October 25, 2016

Over the last six years, President Obama has visited the Los Angeles area over a dozen times. Some visits are for Presidential business, but often they are to hold campaign events, attend fundraisers, or appear on television programs. Whether the visit is official or not, LA and surrounding cities incur hundreds of thousands of dollars in security and logistics expenses and area residents suffer millions of dollars in lost productivity due to traffic jams. These losses often outstrip whatever campaign funds are raised by the visit. We implore the Administration to (a) directly reimburse local governments for all costs of such visits and to find a way to repay affected citizens for the inconvenience, with reimbursements coming from funds raised by these visits and not from federal funds.
