In 1979, Jimmy Carter installed solar panels on the White House, to promote alternative sources of energy to oil during the Arab Oil Embargo.
In 1981, Ronald Reagan had the panels removed.
If we want to be a forward thinking, forward moving nation, then the President, our most recognizable national figure, should act as an example for the rest of the nation's citizens.
Reinstall solar panels on the White House, and encourage the rest of the country to use renewable energy as well. Whether or not people believe in climate change, our oil and coal will run out someday. We need to be ready for that.
