It is surprising enough that 50,000 care enough about this kind of thing. 100,000 is such an intimidating number that people may not even bother trying to get a worthwhile petition started. We understand that this is the internet and you will get some crazy petitions; but isn't it worth responding to crazy petitions if it allows people who actually care to get a response from their government?
