Over 4 million individuals and families are struggling, on the very verge of poverty, due to unemploymemt. I am a single mom with a college degree and I've been unemployed since May 2013. Barely making it on the weekly $240 in unemployment benefits, my situation worsened on the weekly $220 from the EUC, and I now have $500 a month to live on. My story is not the worst, and it's not unique. Rich, pampered politicians who have never experienced unemployment or poverty are deciding the EUC "discourages" the unemployed to look for work. This is arrogance and offense to the ones struggling to find work and survive on poverty-level benefits. This should be offensive to ALL Americans.
