CCSS has removed cursive as a standard and replaced by keyboarding. As a student, I find it horrific that future generations will grow up in a world void of cursive, the gap seemingly filled by a skill that exercises fingers. However, cursive exercises minds and improves motor skills.
Furthermore, historical documents like the Constitution could be nullified; a future Voynich. Vintage books could be rendered unreadable. I do not want my children to live in a world where tour guides point to the Constitution and say, "This is an ancient tome in an ancient language. Nobody knows its meaning."
As for me, I know and love cursive, and am better for it. Please, help me reinstate cursive as standard.
