The promise of an education, the purchase of a home, a better life, a way out of a difficult situation, a chance for a good future. Hope. These are things that many young people will timidly or earnestly risk their lives and limbs to achieve. They are young patriots who are promised benefits that will lead to a better life. Re-instate the draft, so that those who choose to risk our children, must consider if they would also risk their own. Let us be fair and not send only the least-priviledged to war. Put our policies where our hearts are. At the very least, let us keep our promises to our veterans. But in fact, let us do far more than that.
