Reinstate eligibility for declaring bankruptcy on private student loans.

Created by C.D. on October 07, 2012

Large private loan companies are preying on young college students and allowing them to take out massive amounts of loan debt. They are making no attempt to educate students on the gravity of such loans and their abilities to repay them after leaving school.
Students who find themselves unable to pay even minimum payments are trapped in a predicament with no option for negotiations or bankruptcy. The almost nonexistent undue hardship clause is not enough to help the thousands of students who have found themselves beguiled by huge private loan debt with no way out.
Reinstate the ability for students who are declaring bankruptcy to discharge their private student loan debts as these companies are tricking students into taking out large loan amounts knowing they will be forced to pay.
