Today's media is not about informing the people, but rather, manipulation of the facts, drama, and gossip. We ask that the FCC reinstate the Fairness Doctrine that was repealed in 1987 and hold large media corporations responsible for less sensationalism and more NEWS. News and broadcasting is not about winning over the people and spinning to a certain party with opinion and commentary. It receives constitutional protection because it serves to inform the people in a black and white manner about the facts. The implementation of this doctrine will be a step toward removing special, private interests and buy-outs within the media.
