The repeal of the fairness doctrine has allowed for media to willfully misinform Americans about the facts of the serious issues facing our country. Now we have a country that is highly polarized quite often around things that have been reported in the media but are not based in fact. Americans need to be able to be informed about the serious issues by a responsible media that is indeed bound by fact checkers.
